Costumes: Nat had six shoes on her head (she was six feet under - geddit?); Daniel came as Ned the pie-maker from the TV show Pushing Daisies (he has the power to bring dead people back to life); and Katie was a midwife.

The Conversation Pit with Nat: The topic du jour was 'Have you ever been directly involved in a hatching or a dispatching?' Katie said she had dispatched a lot of cockroaches, while Nat had been at the births of a foal, a calf and a human baby. Our special in-studio guest, Mari, told us about donating some of her eggs to a couple who wanted to have a baby, while listener contributions included two people who had inadvertently killed their childhood pets; Chris from St Kilda, who had lost many friends in the 1980s (he said, 'Many of them wanted a celebration of their lives - and so it was'); and the Lovely Barbara, who was dispatching Easter eggs while listening to us on JOY.

Katie's Clutch Purse: Sayings with 'live' or 'die' in them, and their meanings, e.g. 'to live from hand to mouth / in a glass house / in the lap of luxury / the life of Reilly' and 'to die for want of lobster sauce / in harness / with one's boots on / like a dog'.

Daniel's Cocktail Menu: How to make a Lifesaver, a Dying Bastard and Fiery Balls of Death.
